Pitching for success…

Pitching forums were as common as dotcom business plans in the late 1990s, but in the sober noughties few can claim to have achieved consistent success in this arena. BSI has produced an average of four high level Investor Forums per year over the previous two and a half years. Coded by season (summer, winter, spring, autumn), these events have showcased over 50 highly innovative Australian companies, with an average of 100 potential investors at each event. Each potential investor is presented with a folder containing highly detailed information on the companies pitching. According to investors and capital seekers alike, this is what has ensured BSI’s longevity in this space. John Mulquiny, one of Nanyang Ventures investment managers, made the observation recently for the Australian Financial Review, “that no other event had the Investor Forum’s quality and pace of information download”.
