Nov 04 BSI presents Spring Carnival Collection
Corporate advisor and business introduction service, BSI Capital and Investor Forum, will present a selection of between five and seven early stage technology investment prospects at its Spring Carnival Collection this month.
The diverse collection of potential investees are being promoted at breakfasts in Sydney and Melbourne under the title ‘Where innovation meets capital’, in what will be BSI’s eighth investor forum.
Since the quarterly events began in November 2002, 11 deals have been closed, with others now undergoing due diligence, according to BSI.
Previous successes include Bio Recognition Systems which earlier this year raised $750,000 from the BSI-owned Australian Distributed Incubator and two high net worth investors following is presentation at a BSI forum.
When the Australian Venture Capital Journal went to print five companies had been selected to make presentations at the Spring Collection forums in Sydney at the Stamford Plaza on November 23 and in Melbourne at Digital Harbour on November 25. A further two were considering joining the event.
Those investment opportunities confirmed for presentation were: a patented onsite waste management device for the hospitality industry which can reduce the volume of glass waste by 80 per cent; a patented high performance shock absorber; a voice over internet protocol provider; an application service provider for recruitment advertising pre-production which can save up to 70 per cent on production costs; and an education reporting and performance software provider.
The quarterly forums are targeted at investors with an interest in early stage companies with rapid growth potential, a readiness for international expansion, ownership or exclusive control over unique intellectual property, a history of successful fund raising from private and public sources, and a need for extra funding in order to ramp up sales.
