R&D Health Check

R&D Health Check

The R&D Health Check is specifically designed to develop an overall view of the current state of R&D activities within a company. The main purpose of the Health Check is to provide an estimate of benefits available through the 125% R&D Tax Concession program, and to educate the relevant technical and financial staff in the recognition and documentation of eligible R&D projects.

An R&D Health Check (for each company) will be conducted as follows:

Stage 1:
A seminar and tutorial to technical and financial staff on identification of eligible R&D activities.

Stage 2:
A tutorial/workshop based on a real-world example of R&D activities selected from projects the company is undertaking.

Stage 3:
A session to identify all potential R&D activities in the past year, in the current year and future plans for R&D projects.

Stage 4:
Preparation and submission of a report detailing our findings. In particular, we will report on:

  • All eligible R&D activities conducted in the reviewed financial year;
  • The net (after tax) benefit of the eligible R&D projects we have identified;
  • Opportunities for increased claims and any exposures to risk;
  • Opportunities for recovery of under-claimed R&D activities in earlier year(s)

Stage 5:
Approximately one (1) week following submission of the reports, we will arrange a meeting with you to review in detail our findings in respect of each company.
