As John  Maxwell says, how do you lift the lid of your leadership? Your business is a reflection of yourself….. and will only grow to the limit of your lid … your constraint…. the secret is to lift that lid …. remove that constraint …. until you find the next …. and then you rinse and repeat. 

We restrain ourselves from accomplishing by deciding who we think we are and what we can achieve.

“Can you tell me why people go to such lengths to hide their real selves?” Anne Frank wonders in her diary. “Or why I always behave differently when I’m in the company of others?” 

In her final diary entry, after years of isolation, Anne considers how she might try to reveal the “second Anne” (the serious, more thoughtful Anne) more often. She admits this will be difficult, if not impossible: “I know exactly how I’d love to be, how I am…on the inside…. [I] keep trying to find a way to become what I’d like to be and what I could be if…if only there were no other people in the world.” 

Who better to learn about growing in isolation than from Anne Frank whose entire legacy stemmed from her achievements while alone. 

We all have qualities we would like to work on and this is a unique opportunity to grow. If we leave this isolation the same person we came in as, we have missed the opportunity that isolation has given us…

People 

Build a great team – and lead them to help you to achieve your goal – make that goal meaningful that people can “buy into”.

You are not good at everything –  focus on what you are great at and outsource that to someone who is good at it
